John Cusack said that "Democracy is participation." From that I surmised that participation doesn't mean that you go down to your local ward office every day, or become a community activist. In a democracy everybody participates, whether they are aware of it or not. We all pay taxes, our own financial well-being is intrinsically linked to that of our nation, and as our country finds itself in troubled waters so do we. Ginsberg wrote about having only $2.27 cents on January 17, 1956. I've given my Citizens that amount for 2008. Democracy is participation: If all you have is change... and all you want is Change... then you have to vote.
