About this Video

Democracy is self-government. That's about more than parliaments, political parties and voting, it's about how we govern ourselves in our everyday lives - in workplaces, schools and streets. We desperately need new ways of collectively making decisions. The answer isn't just about reconnecting people with politicians they don't trust and their distant and remote parliaments we need new kinds of democracy too - everyday democracy.

This video is a fascinating

This video is a fascinating examination of the apparent apathy of voters towards the subject of their own governance. I would love to see this idea explored in more depth.
I did not like the visuals as much as the commentary, but they are effective and appropriate. By shooting ordinary scenes in choppy black and white, the artist has pointed to the disconnection between the individual and the collective. The discomfort one feels while watching the images points to one's own disconnectedness from the governance of the world. Cheerful, perky, or soothing imagry would not be especially appropriate to the topic. Now how can I make democracy more a part of MY life?

Really liked the script. As the last person said: well written, concise and really interesting. The video was great in parts too but it didn't quite live up to the narration.
